Adding a New Patient

This article will explain how to create a patient account for someone who is a patient of one of our partners, but does not have a pre-existing account. Follow these instructions only after thoroughly searching ResMedReSupply by using the caller's name/phone number. 

Before adding a patient...

Before beginning, always double check with the patient's HME instructions in Salesforce. Some HMEs do not like to have patients added manually and would rather have patients contact them to get their accounts added.

  1. Click on Main, then click on Clients.

  1. Search for the patient's HME in the Client Name field. Click on the HME's name after the search is complete.
  1. Click on Patients, then click on Add Patient.

  1. Confirm the following pieces of information on the Demographics tab with the patient and fill in the appropriate fields:
    • First and Last Name
    • Date of Birth
      • Use the patient's four digit year of birth in the Login PIN field
    • Phone Number
    • Email (If the patient has one)
    • Address
  2. Click on Save at the bottom of your screen.
 
  1. Go to the Insurance tab and confirm as much information as possible with the patient. Once completed, click on the Save button.
  2. DO NOT assign a wellness check to the patient. Send an email using the New Patient Added template or create a callback task (as appropriate) to advise the HME of the new account setup and ask them to follow up with the patient directly to place their first supply request.
