Components of an Article

Overview of the components that make up a Help Center article.

Below is a list of components of a Help Center article. The definitions on the left correspond to the lettered icons in the image on the right. 

  1. Search Box: Always available for your next search.Article with components identified by letter

  2. Location Breadcrumbs: Your location within the knowledge category hierarchy. The article title appears as the last item. You can click previous items to go to those categories.

  3. Title: The article's title.

  4. Last Updated: The date the article was last published.

  5. Summary: Brief description of the article content. Also appears in the search results immediately beneath the article title.

  6. Article ID: Unique identification number for the article. The title or URL may change, but the Article ID always remains the same.

  7. Audience Banner: The audience banner designates which ACE teams the content in the article applies to. In some cases, it also identifies which groups have visibility to an article.  

  8. Main Content: The body of the article. This is the content that addresses the topic identified by the title. 

  9. Metadata and Revision History: Two hidden sections. The Article Metadata section identifies who worked on the article, who is responsible for the content, to what extent the content is available for view, the intended audience, what type of revision is required for changes, and a risk assessment approval code. The Revision History section lists the dates and major changes made to the article. 

  10. Back to Top: Click this link to return to the top of the article.

  11. Next / Previous Articles: Links to view articles to either "side" of the current article. These may reference articles in alphabetical order or some other sequence.

  12. Rating and Feedback: Options for rating the usefulness of the article and providing feedback about the content.

  13. Recommended Articles: Suggested articles the Help Center thinks may be related to the current article. If the current article doesn't answer your question, one of these might.
